Legislation is not just a science, it is an art that involves skills and
crafts. Legislative drafting is not just about drafting the law but also
communicating the law to the society. As a result, drafting of
legislations and quality bills involve a rigorous process to achieve the
intention of the lawmakers and purpose for which the legislation is
made.
In Nigeria like the rest of the world, there are challenges
during the process of drafting quality bills. Therefore, the focus of
this paper would be to discuss the challenges in Nigerian legislative
drafting and viable and workable solutions would be provided herein
for there to be improvement of the quality of bills and legislations in
Nigeria.
